therapies are currently available. In the Centre's waiting room there is a
file giving further information on each approach to healing:

Restores and maintains health through the insertion of fine needles into
specific points on
the body, stimulating body energies to rebalance themselves, thereby
removing the cause of the problem.

Offers a unique way to become aware of "psychophysical" habits that
interfere with our well-being and cause symptoms such as backache and
fatigue. This gentle therapy offers relief while teaching a self-help skill.

An ancient healing art, employing massage or inhalation of essential plant
and flower oils, which circulate through the lymphatic and olfactory system,
cleansing and energising the whole being.

There are 38 different flower essences which help balance emotions and moods
and will transform negative feelings into positive ones. They are a natural,
safe and gentle form of vibrational healing.

Is a hands-on holistic therapy which, through a series of non-invasive
gentle moves over muscle and connective tissue, allows the body to reset and
heal itself.

Chinese Herbal
Medicine shares the same theoretical foundation as Chinese Acupuncture. This
ancient and evolving understanding of health and sickness allows a thorough
knowledge of symptoms and disease within the health of the individual.

Draws on
Buddhist psychology and awareness practices and offers a spiritual approach
to psychotherapy. It acknowledges the wisdom within each of us that moves
naturally towards healing and wholeness.

Is the process of helping people to mobilise their own resources to deal
with problems. Through careful listening and prompting, the counsellor aims
to facilitate the client's own growth and realisation.

Is a healing
process which focuses on the subtle life breath, the cranial rhythm. This
rhythm is tied to the health of the central nervous system, and the ability
for self-healing to occur at a deep level.

Seeks to bring into harmony the body, mind and spirit. The healer, through
laying on of hands, revitalises the whole being, awakening your innate
healing potential.

Uses plant preparations to prevent and treat disease. In trained hands,
herbs are safe and gentle in their action. They stimulate the body's
defences and life force to overcome illness and
disorder.

Is a scientific system of medicine, employing potentised natural substances
to mobilise the
patient's vitality and capacity for self healing, on the mental and
emotional levels, as well as the
physical.

Indian Head Masage involves relaxing, stimulating and flowing massage
movements to the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face. Especially
recommended for aching neck and shoulders, tension headaches, eyestrain and
high stress levels.

Stress causes chemical reactions and muscular tensions in the body. The
therapeutic touch of trained hands releases tension, improves circulation,
and assists the drainage of toxic wastes, leaving you relaxed and refreshed.

Is for people motivated by a desire for self-knowledge and understanding.
Insight is gained through a mutual investigation of the therapeutic
relationship in a one-to-one setting, where long-buried feelings can be
worked through.

Consists of the systematic massage of specific points on the feet to
stimulate the body's own healing forces, relieving stress and strengthening
the whole system. Treatment can help with a wide range of disorders.

Reiki is a powerful healing technique where the practitioner uses the hands
to transmit Universal Energy to the recipient. A sequence of positions
covers the whole body gently, and deep relaxation can be experienced at all
levels of being.

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese body work. Treatment involves the stimulation
of the same channels and points as acupuncture. It is one of the body's
natural self healing systems. Various techniques such as palming, finger
pressure and gentle stretches are used to promote well being. During a
treatment (1 hour) please wear comfortable clothing.

Ear candles have a purely physical function. The light suction action and
the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the ear candle,
generating a soothing massage-like effect on the ear drum. Helpful for
irritations in the ears and sinuses.
